This quick and easy pie, made with readymade puff pastry, will make an ordinary evening extraordinary.

Minced meat pie for a weekday supper                                                                                              

Ingredients:

Readymade puff pastry (frozen)

1 onion, minced

400 g minced meat

150 g cooked rice

2 hard boiled eggs, diced

About 150 g cream cheese, any flavour of your choice, e.g. with black pepper or herbs

Salt

1 beaten egg, for the egg wash

Sesame seeds

Take the puff pastry out of the freezer and let thaw out at room temperature.

Sauté the onions, then add and brown the meat. Mix together with the rice and diced eggs. Stir in the cream cheese and add salt to taste. You can add a little bit of milk if the mixture is too stiff.

Roll out the puff pastry into a square and place the filling on one side. Fold the other side over like closing a book, and press the edges together with a little bit of water to seal.

Brush the top of the pie with the egg wash and then sprinkle over sesame seeds. Bake in a 200 °C oven for about 30 minutes, depending on the strength of your oven.
